CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM.

Classification systems useful for consistent clinical assessment and data collection.  

The Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS)

A 5-level classification system that describes the gross motor function of children and youth with cerebral palsy based on their self-initiated movement with particular emphasis on sitting, walking and wheeled mobility. 

The Communication Function
Classification System (CFCS)

Provides five levels to describe everyday communication performance. 

The Manual Ability Classification System (MACS)

Describes how children with cerebral palsy use their hands to handle objects in daily activities. MACS describes five levels.
